Quick Photo Tip: Getting In Close

Wow its been forever since I've posted some basic photo tips. I'm not sure if I've posted this simple trick before but its always a good to come back to.

Making better photos is as easy as taking a few more steps toward your subject. Moving in closer eliminates more of the background, emphasizes your subject, and invokes a lot more emotion. Here are a few lovely pictures of my offical photo tip model, Debra. See which one is your favorite!

Future cars, all are excited about how the cars are going to be in the future. There are different rumors which doing rounds out there that there might be cars which can fly, move on water. There is every possibility that this might happen, and it can't be ruled out completely. If this becomes reality then traffic jams can be avoided to a great extent. The following are some of the pictures and images of how the cars are going to be in the future.

J Jones Photography: 2009 South Carolina Wedding Photographer Contest Results

I had the awesome chance of attending the first annual South Carolina Wedding Photographer of the Year contest yesterday. It was held in downtown Columbia, SC and featured a bunch of award winning judges, awesome wedding photographers, and of course, amazing wedding images.

After over four hours of intense judging and viewing over a thousand stunning photos I ended up winning honorable mention award! I won this award for one of my images taken during alexa and preston's engagement session last year. The photo was also the #1 engagement photo shown during the entire competition!

Congrats to all the winners and I look forward to next year!

Here is the winning photo:

BMW Expressions of Joy: Blue Ridge Mountains

I like BMW's new add campaign. Expressions of Joy. With a little help from my friend Logan, I did a take on the imagery used in the new commercials while doing some driving up in the Blue Ridge Mountains this past week. Enjoy!

Spring has come to downtown Greenville SC!

I took my good friend Logan downtown yesterday to show him the city. Naturally I brought the good ol' nikon along for the ride. The city was more alive than usual, with thousands of people out enjoying the first official day of spring! Here are a few of my favorites!

Main Street was as packed as usual

Found this article on display... some pretty good photography in it!
